Working GroupsWorking groups are set up to assist, advise and support executive staff in specific phases of D&T: primary, secondary and examinations, special educational needs and initial teacher education. Members of working groups must also be members of the Design and Technology Association. There is a simple nomination process for members wishing to join a particular group, the Executive and Chair will review the application and ask the member to join the group or be placed on a waiting list if there are no spaces available. Group membership is for a two-year period. You can be invited to stay for a further two years, but no longer than four years. Members of the groups are expected to attend regularly - if a member attends less than two meetings in any year, the Association reserves the right to discontinue membership of the group. Travel expenses can be claimed by all members and supply cover can be claimed by schools of teacher-members. The groups will consist of no more than16 members:
