Membership
Whether you are working in a primary or secondary school, a university or school-based training institution, a local authority or as a freelance consultant, the Design and Technology Association has services which will make your professional life easier and more effective.
Strength in numbers is important, as is listening carefully to the members - a large and growing membership helps the D&T Association to develop and present a strategic vision for the subject and to represent the views of the subject community to the DCSF and other government agencies.
The D&T Association would like all those involved with D&T education to become members of the Association. The Secretary of State for Education's Subject Association initiative has re-stated the value of subject associations and the central part they play - how the excitement and enjoyment in education so often flows from the subject specialists' passion which drives excellent teaching.
Ten very good reasons to join the Design and Technology Association:
- Become part of the subject community of over 6,000 members
- Save time - keep up-to-date with key issues, resources and ideas
- Save money with discounts on publications, design magazines, accreditations and events
- Influence government - have your voice heard through D&T Association lobbying
- Network - meet like-minded professionals to share and develop ideas
- Shape our future by getting involved in advisory groups to determine the future of D&T
- Get the expert help and advice you need when you need it
- Evidence TDA professional standards and enhance 'threshold' applications
- Increase awareness of the subject, its direction and the opportunities
- Take responsibility for your own professional development
Whatever your reason for joining, the membership options provide a comprehensive range of benefits and high quality publications designed to meet the needs of everyone involved in D&T education.
.... and don't forget in most instances the D&T Association membership fee is tax deductible.
