Welcome to Branches

This section of the Design and Technology Association’s website is dedicated to Branches. Here you will find the latest information and up to date news.

Branches

The aim of the Design and Technology Association regional branches is to create a local network where members come together to share ideas and mutual interests. Each branch typically has an Organising Group or simply one organiser who set a programme of activities for local members.

Meetings are usually held in the evening or on Saturdays and may include visits, workshops, visiting speakers, drop-in sessions or other activities. Members can get valuable support and access to resources through the meetings as well as having the opportunity to feed back their thoughts on D&T developments.

The Design and Technology Association is committed to supporting the branches by:

  • providing a handbook that sets out the rules under which a branch may operate
  • designating a member of staff at the Wellesbourne office to provide administrative support
  • help with financial arrangements including audited accounts, 'start-up' funds, banking facilities and support for larger, more costly activities
  • keeping branch records centrally and providing a mailing service
  • publishing activities and information through a designated area of the D&T Association website and D&T News
  • compiling and maintaining a central record of speakers and visits

The Design and Technology Association is looking for new Event Branch Coordinators. Are you passionate about D&T and do you think you could share our visions and ideas with like minded people?
A Branch Event could be a twilight workshop after school and about a variety of subjects.

We are hoping for your help in this. We do think that especially now, it is very important to have these events and get the message out about D&T as the government is consulting about this.

So if you want to become a branch coordinator or have any suggestions for events in your area please let us know.

In these areas especially We are looking for Branch Coordinators;

Surrey, Oxfordshire, Derbyshire, East and West Yorkshire, Shropshire and Herefordshire and Greater Manchester.

Find out more about what's on now by browsing the Branch Events from the menu.
