Pedagogy: Diversity and teaching D&T

In the UK we have a diverse society, made up of the descendants of numerous influxes of different peoples over centuries of time. ITE students in placement will see that in school playgrounds and recreation areas the ‘diversity’ of pupils is clearly in evidence: in the different languages spoken, in race, disability, ethnicity, dialect use, cultural influences, and so on.

This unit will support your students to appreciate that diversity celebrates difference, and in planning for the progress of all individuals in their placement teaching groups.
