Pedagogy :  SEN

SEN and D&T

Trainees often have a lot of interest in pupils with special educational needs SEN. Perhaps this is because they are confronted with a wide range of needs when they begin teaching and are looking for ways to address these quickly!  Pupils with SEN make more progress in D&T than any other subject, so collecting examples of good practice in schools is possible.

These materials on SEN have been developed by Louise T Davies. The material falls into 4 sections:

Part 1:  Understanding the legislation and requirements for pupils with SEN clearly

Part 2:  Understanding areas of need and individual needs to use the different labels accurately and confidently

Part 3:  Adapting lesson activities and schemes of work for pupils with SEN

Part 4:  Planning for differentiation and progression for pupils with SEN
