The Design and Technology Association Excellence Awards 2010

On Friday 19 March the 11th Design and Technology (D&T) Association Annual Excellence Awards for teachers, trainers and support staff who have made outstanding contributions to D&T education was held in London at the IET, Savoy Place, with winners being presented with their awards by internationally renowned designer Sir John Sorrell CBE.

Held in partnership with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the event was compered by National STEM Careers Co-ordinator and TV and radio presenter Kate Bellingham and attended by 30 award winners and over 130 guests. Awards included those sponsored by the James Dyson Foundation, the IET, the National STEM Centre, National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) and Meat and Education.

Nominations for the awards, which give recognition to individuals for their unique work in design and technology education across six different categories, are made by members of the D&T Association and winners are selected by the Trustees of the Association.

The 2010 winners are:

Category 1: Outstanding Contribution to Design and Technology Education Award
