The Big Picture:
Teaching students to look at problems and achieve innovative solutions is the core purpose of a design and technology teacher. I now apply these same principles to my work as a consultant, helping staff and students to look at things differently, to recapture the passion for the subject again and to achieve the best results.
The Small Print:
- I have worked as a teacher and middle leader in challenging schools for 22 years focusing on KS2-5
- I have worked with many primary schools to develop D&T within KS2
- My specialisms are in Product Design, Resistant Materials, CAD/CAM and Graphics, and in managing a busy department.
- I have recently worked as the consultant on the D&T Association Skills for Industry Projects across Coventry and Warwickshire, supporting lessons and developing resources to link schools with industrial partners (Follow the link for further details, https://www.data.org.uk/for-partners/skills-for-industry-in-school/).
