Leanne Mee

Leanne founded The STEM Workshop in 2018, to be able to have a wider impact on school engagement across the STEM subjects and to support in raising children's aspirations. Having become increasingly frustrated with the demise of Design and Technology at the time in many schools locally, particularly in primary schools Leanne decided to work independently to support schools in developing their provision.

Leanne works with various schools, training centres and organisations on a regular basis, she also supports schools nationwide through offering training and consultancy to support in developing their Design and Technology provision to ensure that is relevant and engaging. Leanne has a series of workshops that she has developed that supports in developing young peoples subject knowledge but also links to the range of careers across the STEM subjects, to ensure that young people are more informed and empowered to make suitable choices.

All of the work she has done is on the back of a very successful career as a teacher and leader holding various roles to include:

  • Head of Design and Technology (Led on the city wide network meetings)
  • STEM Co ordinator working in partnership with RAF Museum Cosford, Gained National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL) for bringing about sustainable changes across STEM within the Academy and surrounding community.
