Paul has significant experience of helping teachers, departments and schools improve their pupils’ attainment. When he was Head of Technology in one of the most challenging schools in the country, his students achieved outstanding value added. Importantly, he continues to work part-time as a teacher, so he has direct current experience of what is effective in the classroom.
Paul has significant experience working for two exam boards in a range of roles, including Chief Examiner, Principal Moderator and Chair of Examiners for a range of different qualifications. He has also been involved in developing several current D&T and Engineering qualifications.
He was awarded a Gatsby fellowship for his work implementing Assessment for Learning in D&T and is an alumni member of the JDF Innovation Group. He is one of the team of former examiners who founded Attainment in Education, www.attainmentineducation.org.uk, to provide high quality STEM resources to teachers and schools. He is also a Registered D&T Health & Safety Consultant, a teacher adviser to the IET and National Schools Partnership and an award-winning author, who has written or co-authored nine Design & Technology textbooks, along with over 100 published teaching resources.
