CAD/CAM Textiles - a multi skilled e-textiles task.
The Lantern Project: a multi skilled e-textiles task.
Work smart and deliver a project that can develop a range of techniques that underpin the key knowledge required around manmade textiles and basic electronics - which is also linked to science and maths. This project can easily be adapted to suit a range of ages and abilities or to fit your department’s resources. It is ideal for non- textiles specialists to deliver.
CAD/CAM skills will include developing a repeat pattern in 2D Design, sublimation printing, knife cutting non-woven fabric using a CAMM1 vinyl cutter, (or laser cutter), together with the use of a sewing machine and hand stitching conductive thread to complete an electronic circuit.
The materials to make individual lanterns will be supplied and further support and guidance will be provided by TechSoft UK Ltd.
