Taking a User-Centred Design approach in Design & Technology
This workshop aims to develop understanding of the importance and value of design projects that take a user-centred design approach. Participants will explore user-centred design tools and develop practical approaches that can be used across KS3, 4 and 5.
Participants will understand what user-centred design is and how it helps learners focus information gathering, understand the needs of people and place and develop empathy and understanding for end users of their designing.
Participants will gain experience of practical approaches to use in D&T projects.
Presented by: Kay Stables, Emeritus Professor, Goldsmiths, University of London
Design and Technology (D&T) is the inspiring, rigorous and practical subject which prepares all young people to live and work in the designed and made world.
We are focused on giving you the tools, knowledge and information you need to become more effective, more experienced and more efficient. Giving you access to expert opinions. And creating a place where you can air your views, ask your questions and so help make a difference to your life and those of your pupils. We want to hear from you. We want to know how we can help. And we want you to join us.
