E-Learning for D&T teachers

Transition in design and technology

This E-Learning course aims to raise awareness of the issues surrounding key stage 2 to key stage 3 transition and suggests some solutions that teachers can implement both within design and technology but also using the multi-faceted and problem-solving nature of design and technology across the school.

Objectives:

  • To consider possible solutions and strategies to aid transition we first need to review the problems that children face.
  • To work through some strategies that can be used by primary schools and secondary schools. The most powerful strategies combine both primary and secondary schools working together so the course considers several options for a combined approach.

By participating in this course, you will:

  • Learn the importance of a strong transition from an Ofsted viewpoint and the importance of seeing this from a child’s perspective
  • Upon completion of the course, receive an electronic certificate and validated digital badge to demonstrate your completion of relevant D&T CPD.
