D&T Practice (incorporating D&T Primary)

D&T Practice and D&T Primary have merged to create one membership magazine that benefits both primary and secondary teachers. We listened to our members' views and have created one magazine that hosts secondary and primary content.

D&T Practice is a secondary and primary curriculum development publication produced by the Design and Technology Association as part of individual and school membership, reflecting all aspects of Design and Technology, including transition and special educational needs practice. It provides case studies of effective practice to give professionals fresh and well-tested ideas to try in their own classrooms.

The magazine will host termly posters suitable for primary teachers and their classrooms which will be linked to downloadable resources and will continue to provide news, information, articles, case studies and lesson ideas. The magazine is designed to help you maintain the provision of a broad and balanced cross-curricular 21st Century D&T curriculum. Primary and secondary teachers will benefit greatly from this change as they will be able to see clearly what is happening and being taught at each phase of education.

D&T Practice is included with Individual and School membership, coming out in January, April and September each year. For non-members, those with Basic membership or who wish to purchase additional copies the annual prices are as follows:

  • £55 - Member
  • £70 - Non member

Journal

The Journal has been published three times a year since 1997, providing a wide range of leading research into Design and Technology to D&T Association members. To accommodate and reflect the changing face of modern Design and Technology education, the Journal was relaunched in 2005 with a new image and a new title: Design and Technology Education: An International Journal.
