Published 30th August 2016

Would you like to receive more than £3,000 worth of free face-to-face training, classroom support and resources in order to develop your school D&T department?

We are offering ten schools in the West Midlands region a unique opportunity to take part in an innovative, industry-focused programme for your year 8 students, which is proven to dramatically increase the number of students choosing D&T as a GCSE and to help schools to develop much closer relationships with their local industries.

This flexible three-month to one year programme will provide you with free resources on careers and classroom activities that replicate an area of work undertaken by a local design or manufacturing company. The D&T Association and this dedicated company partner will then offer technical training and classroom support to help you to deliver these resources.

The programme will be developed in line with the D&T GCSE subject content paper and will help your department to meet the requirements for contextual challenges, working with industry, understanding manufacturing processes, iterative design, product research and development.

This is also an opportunity to be part of a wider network of D&T teachers.

To apply for this exciting opportunity please email skillsforindustry@data.org.uk. Selection criteria applies.
