Bernard Cooper

Published 2nd August 2016

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of Bernard Cooper on Sunday 31st July following a short illness.  Bernard was president of the National Association of Advisers and Inspectors in Design and Technology (NAAIDT) 2010-11, playing an active role in securing NAAIDT’s legacy when merging with the Design & Technology Association.  In his Hampshire role he was one of the last remaining county advisers for design and technology. Whilst he had recently reduced his work commitment to 3 days a week, as he approached retirement, he continued to support our subject and the Association, having been a long serving member of the Health and Safety Advisory Group and both the Primary and Consultants’ Working Groups and still had much to offer in drive and vision.

Bernard was highly respected by all who knew and worked with him and he will be remembered by teachers and colleagues for his professionalism, knowledge, skill, enthusiasm and his great sense of engagement and fun. He will be missed by all his friends and colleagues in the D&T community and our sincere condolences and thoughts are with his family at this very sad time.
