Blueprint 1000

The Design & Technology Association initiative Blueprint 1000 helps industry engage with curious, highly motivated young students. It has been in full swing this year with multiple projects spanning across our membership. 

Although Covid restrictions are lifting Teachers are still struggling to get the authorisation to attend in person residences therefore adaptation was needed and Virtual teachers in residence were trialled  becoming An Afternoon with.

By the end of 2022 twenty-two schools will have experienced additive manufacturing by taking part in CREATE Educations loan scheme. The programme offers teacher training, support and resources for 5 weeks.  Teacher feedback has been amazing with many schools looking at purchasing a printer in the near future.

Designed for Life Podcasts rated 5* on the Apple podcast, from OFSTED inspectors, to designers and chefs’ inspiration is just a click away.  

Resource and software testing is underway for member companies wanting to receive feedback on how their product will be received in UK schools.  Teachers have been asked to access and feedback as this may impact on the product brought to the UK market in the future.

Blue print members have taken time from their busy schedules to host webinars, topics covered so far include, 3D Printing, Intergalactic Athletes- a creative design brief, Product and service innovation.  All subjects which educators have found very interesting.  Contact amelia.wright@data.org.uk to discuss how your company can host a webinar
