Developing and applying new ideas in design

Published 9th March 2016

Get techniques to support and inspire your students throughout the design process at this one-day residential, brought to you by UAL and the Design Museum. From the initial concept stage through to prototyping, we’ll explore techniques to help your students to develop and communicate their design ideas effectively.

Facilitators including Nick Rhodes (Programme Leader, Central Saint Martins) and Caren Hartley (bespoke bike frame designer and exhibitor in Design Museum’s Cycle Revolution) will use a combination of theoretical and practical teaching to help you to raise student ambition back in the classroom. The day will cover brief-setting, prototyping, group critique and embedding functional skills into design teaching. Participants will also have the opportunity to tour the Design Museum’s three innovative exhibitions, plus receive exclusive tutor and learner resources.
