Dyson School of Design Engineering Announced

Published 3rd December 2015

The James Dyson Foundation announced on 23rd March a £12 million donation to Imperial College London, to create the Dyson School of Design Engineering.

The Dyson School will teach a four year Master of Engineering degree in Design Engineering from October 2015. The curriculum, designed in partnership with Dyson engineers to ensure industry relevance, blends technical discipline with creativity. It will challenge students to develop tangible and compelling products, as well as giving them the commercial know-how to make the products commercially successful.

Admission criteria will be based on A*AA (or the Overseas equivalent). Mathematics has to be one of the subjects but there is no stipulation on others, so A level D&T will be accepted. All suitable applicants will be invited to attend an Admissions Day, to include a selection interview with a member of the academic staff.

More information can be found on the James Dyson Foundation website.
