East Yorkshire Polymer Study Tour

When: Friday 18 and Saturday 19 November 2022

The Institute of Materials and Mining will be running a Polymer Study Tour at Bericap. This is a free two-day residential course linked to the 11-18 design & technology and engineering curricula and includes a tour around the Bericap site where you will see polymer manufacturing operations in action.

Overnight accommodation on Friday night and all meals and refreshments are included and they are also offering delegates a contribution of up to £250 towards the cost of travel or supply cover.

The Polymer Study Tours were launched in 1987 to provide subject knowledge enhancement and promote positive perceptions of polymers to the secondary teaching community.  They are organised and run by a Steering Committee comprised of the Worshipful Company of Horners’ (the primary sponsor), the British Plastics Federation (BPF) and Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3).  Sponsorship from the polymer industry allows keep these courses free of charge.

IOM3 is committed to supporting, enthusing and inspiring the next generation of scientists, technologists and engineers. They offer resources that are related to the school and college science, design and technology, and engineering curricula and can be used enhance and enrich teaching from age 5 upwards:
