The State of Design and Technology

Published 27th June 2018

This review will provide a detailed analysis of the current provision across England and other devolved administrations. It will present recommendations on how to save, re-ignite and grow the subject, which should be seen by the government as a critical component of delivering a broad and balanced curriculum and to enable the future workforce required to drive the countries economy.

With significant changes in the policy landscape, including the decision to leave the EU and a new industrial strategy explicitly recognising the importance of creative and productive industries to UK competitiveness, the future sustainability of the subject is more important than ever.

An experienced panel is currently being assembled to carry out this work over the next 9 months (starting in September) with publication planned for September 2019.
