This practical course will:

  • demonstrate a range of teaching techniques and use of resources that develop the skills sought after and valued by industry.
  • include how to get started with robotic systems including acquiring resources and building their use into the D&T curriculum.
  • provide hands on experience of building, modifying and programing robots in response to D&T challenges set at KS3 and 4. 
  • explore practical examples of low cost approaches to implementing a creative, fun, 21st century curriculum

This course is aimed at all secondary of D&T teachers. It requires no prior knowledge other than a good understanding of the aims and purpose of D&T and experience of teaching the subject at KS3 and KS4.

The course tutor Pete Maguire, has many years of working with the D&T Association developing curriculum and associated resources and in his own school, is constantly innovating his department’s curriculum, moving it from strength to strength.
