Explore a range of inspiring and interesting activities and tasks that are designed to enrich and update your DT curriculum to enable your students to be more engaged and excited in your classroom.

Embrace the spirit of new qualification and the opportunities it presents by focusing on organising the curriculum effectively and developing progression across Key Stage 3.

The course will:

  • Provide quick, simple and effective activities that encourage your students to think and discuss.
  • Illustrate how working with contexts can be introduced early in the curriculum.
  • Provide strategies, ideas and activities for delivering technical knowledge and skills.
  • Illustrate techniques for communicating design and technology work.
  • Look at how ‘unfamiliar’ materials can be incorporated and combined into the curriculum.
  • Provide opportunity for delegates to get ‘hands on, practical’ experience of some of the activities.
  • Provide useful resources that can be taken away and implemented quickly into your provision.

The course supports all the Awarding Organisations’ specifications in terms of core technical principles, specialist technical principles and design and make principles and promotes the development of an engaging Key Stage 3 curriculum in accordance with the 2014 Programmes of Study on which the Subject Criteria for the new D&T GCSE was based.

In order to maintain quality of our courses we ask our delegates to book in advance. Delegates that have not booked prior to the event cannot be guaranteed a space.
