This course will enable delegates to refresh their H&S accreditation certification through a ‘hands on’ approach using metal-arc welding equipment (MMA, MIG and TIG) and oxy-acetylene welding using BOC set and Albee set.
Delegates will need to provide evidence of previous training (photocopy or electronic file sent by e-mail). In the event that a delegate has previous certification in only 1 out of the two they will be able to do the practical task but not be accredited.
The training will consist of:
1. Practice in the use of MMA, MIG and TIG equipment to weld mild steel and stainless steel.
2. Practice in the use of Oxyacetylene equipment to weld and braze mild steel.
3. Manufacture of a series of formal joints. (Corner/Butt/Lap/Tee)
4. Manufacture of a spanner key rack
Delegates will use a selection of welding processes choosing which technique is appropriate to their needs, to complete each task.
All the activities conform to the current D&T Association Training Standards.
