This one day, ‘hands-on’ course, will enable delegates to develop the skills, techniques and confidence needed to meet the requirements of the 2014 National Curriculum. Areas covered during the course include, risk assessments, planning, mechanisms, structures and electronics. Under the guidance of an experienced STEM/DT specialist and D&TA registered health and safety consultant, delegates will learn how to use a variety of age appropriate tools, equipment and materials correctly and safely, whilst constructing teaching aids to take back to school, to support colleagues’ practice in KS1 and KS2. Delegates will be introduced to D&TA’s ‘Projects on a Page’ to support, deliver and develop project ideas for use in the classroom and have the opportunity to discuss ideas with fellow professionals.
By the end of the one day course, each delegate will;
No prior knowledge is required for attendance at this course. On conclusion of the training, course members will be accredited by the D&T Association for completion of the Primary H&S Training Standards.
You will need to bring your own lunch, refreshments will be provided.
