Delivered for the D&T Association by Renishaw and CREATE Education Project
This course is aimed at developing the basic practical skills, knowledge and understanding associated with 3D printing in schools at KS 3 & 4. It recognises that there are many 3D printers available at school level but perhaps they are not being used to their full potential. Renishaw and CREATE Education project both have extensive knowledge in this area and will deliver a workshop for teachers and technicians on using 3D printers in the classroom to enhance the school curriculum and develop personal knowledge of this technology.
The course has been designed to address 3D printing in the classroom and how it can be used as an effective tool in teaching students rapid modelling and manufacturing techniques. The course will also explore the link to additive manufacturing in industry giving teachers the opportunity to understand and witness metal 3D printing at Renishaw with a tour of one of its world class manufacturing sites. CREATE Education project will cover practical projects that can be used in the classroom and how to get the best out of your desktop 3D printer.
The session will cover the following areas:
Teachers will be provided with 3D printing projects with schemes of work that can be used in the classroom or STEM clubs back at their schools
