Bio:

As Chief Executive of Denford Ltd, Manufacturers of precision Engineering training equipment used by Schools, Colleges and Universities worldwide, Mr Denford is also the Founder and Chairman of the F1 in Schools Technology Challenge – the world’s largest STEM competition operating in over 46 countries world-wide.  F1 in Schools is a not-for-profit company established with committed partners to provide an exciting yet challenging educational experience through the magnetic appeal of Formula One, a multi-disciplinary challenge, in which teams of students aged 9 to 19 develop Marketing and Business Plans and use CAD/CAM software to Design, Test, Analyse, Manufacture and race 1/20th scale CO2-powered model cars.

Mr Denford is active world-wide in raising the profile of Engineering and Manufacturing in Education and Training with a view to attracting more school leavers via STEM subjects into an industry with desperate requirements and is passionate in promoting Design & Technology as the key to increasing students’ interest in Engineering.

As Chairman of Engineering in Motion, Mr Denford has worked with Jaguar Land Rover over the last 17 years and created the Jaguar Primary School Challenge and Land Rover 4x4 in Schools Technology Challenge to further inspire students from as young as 6 years old and through to University to engage in exciting Engineering projects – these challenges are now operating in over 15 countries world-wide.
