Based on the information you have read / watched so far, what are some of the disadvantages you can think of linked to AI? You may wish to divide it into categories such as people:
- Large company
- Small company
- Employed person
- Student etc
And/or categories linked to:
- Social
- Moral
- Emotional etc
Some of your responses may have been linked to a commonly thought viewpoint that machines will take many of our jobs and leave many people unemployed. This has been a long-held view since the industrial revolution and whilst some jobs may be less common, the fact is that people will still be required, but job roles may continue to shift as they always have done.
Possible disadvantages of AI include:
- Expensive;
- Requires technical expertise;
- Limited supply of qualified workers to build AI tools;
- Only knows what it's been shown;
- Lack of ability to generalize from one task to another.
