Teachers in Residence Program: Railway Engineering

Published 26th October 2023

A professional development opportunity is open for educators looking to improve their teaching skills with real-world experience. The Teachers in Residence program lets teachers gain insights from different sectors and apply practical knowledge in their classrooms.

Placements are available in Bristol, Reading, Plymouth, and Penzance, partnering with a railway engineering company. It's a chance for teachers to connect with the Great Western railway, building industry connections that can benefit their schools.

Taking place during the Easter break in 2024, the 3-day placement offers hands-on experience in railway engineering. This exposure enriches teaching methods and bridges the gap between classroom education and the real world.

If you're an educator wanting to change your teaching approach and provide your students a unique perspective, this placement is for you. To apply, contact Neesha Mistry at neesha.mistry@designtechnology.org.uk.

Don't miss the opportunity to shape education through exposure to railway engineering. Spots are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, so book soon.
