A unique and dynamic professional development opportunity is now open for educators who want to enhance their teaching skills with real-world industry experience. The Teachers in Residence program presents teachers with the chance to gain invaluable insights from various sectors and bring practical knowledge directly to their classrooms.

Exciting placements are now currently available in Bristol, Reading, Plymouth, and Penzance, partnering with a renowned railway engineering company. The program offers a remarkable opportunity for teachers to connect with the Great Western railway, establishing a valuable industry connection that can greatly benefit their schools.

The 3-day placement, scheduled during either the October half-term of 2023 or the Easter break of 2024, will provide participants with firsthand experience within the railway engineering field. The exposure to industry practices and insights will not only enrich their teaching methods but also empower them to bridge the gap between classroom education and real-world application.
