This Primary D&T course is Free to attend and will be hosted by the Dyson Foundation at their headquarters in Malmesbury.

No-shows on the day will result in your school being invoiced for £100. Please gain appropriate permissions prior to booking a place.
We will also pay your supply teacher costs up to a value of £150 should this be needed. Please claim by submitting proof of your supply teacher booking.
This exciting, full-day primary D&T course is based around linking the high-tech, inspiring work of Dyson, to the D&T curriculum that occurs in your primary classrooms. There will be an opportunity to hear from an Engineer at Dyson. The agenda will allow time to explore some of the resources which the James Dyson Foundation offers to schools. The D&T Association trainer will help to demonstrate how you can contextualise D&T lessons and ensure your pupils' D&T learning is as engaging and relevant as possible.
During your lunch break, delegates will enjoy a tour of parts of the facilities at the Headquarters in Malmesbury.
Course Objectives:
To enable you to contextualise D&T in your school
Engage in hands-on practical CPD with Dyson ‘Challenge Cards’ and further resources
Increase knowledge of how professional designers and engineers work, to be able to translate elements back in school

Lol Conway – Curriculum Trainer
Lol has been a Design and Technology teacher for 12 years teaching students from years 7 to 13 in comprehensive secondary schools. She has been a Head of Department for 7 of those years and was a College/Pastoral Leader for 2. During her time as Head of Department she took a department that was struggling to a thriving and outstanding faculty within the school. Lol is currently continuing her D&T journey working within a primary setting, providing Lol with a unique opportunity to contribute to students' foundational learning experiences and gain insights into what best supports primary teachers.
