Half-day, online course (Zoom link will be provided)

Many KS3 D&T offerings in schools can be based around historic projects and approaches with limited vision and justification around a curriculum fit for future learning and employment. This course is aimed not only at producing an exciting, relevant and realistic KS3 curriculum, but linking it seamlessly to your delivery at KS4 and in turn creating a five-year D&T curriculum for your school. It is intended to help you implement an effective curriculum structure that focuses on the needs and aspirations of the students, creating a learning-first approach to your D&T curriculum.

Course objectives:

  • Implement an effective, aspirational and engaging curriculum structure
  • Focus on the learning in D&T, not solely the practical outcomes
  • To plan and justify a rigorous, future-thinking curriculum offering
  • Triangulate your curriculum intent, impact and delivery
  • Create a 5-year curriculum offering for your D&T department

By participating in this course, you will learn:

  • How to audit/map your curriculum delivery
  • How to structure your key learning and apply the key D&T principles to learning
  • Practical examples of D&T units at KS3 and beyond

This is an online course. In order to achieve the greatest outcome, maximise engagement with our trainer and gain the desired skills from this course, we require you to have your camera switched on throughout the entire session. We encourage discussion and are more than happy to answer questions during the session. Please note, the trainer may kindly request delegates mute themselves for short periods of times throughout the training session.
