Full day, face to face course in Essex

This full-day course is aimed not only at producing an exciting, relevant and realistic KS3 curriculum, but linking it seamlessly to your delivery at KS4 and in turn creating a five-year D&T curriculum for your school. It is intended to help you implement an effective curriculum structure that focuses on the needs and aspirations of the students, creating a learning-first approach to your D&T curriculum.

Course objectives:

  • Implement an effective, aspirational and engaging curriculum structure
  • Focus on the learning in D&T, not solely the practical outcomes
  • To plan and justify a rigorous, future-thinking curriculum offering
  • Triangulate your curriculum intent, impact and delivery
  • Focus on what’s suitable for your students in your school
  • Create a 5-year curriculum offering for your D&T department
  • Opportunities to discuss alternative approaches with other D&T teachers

 By participating in this course, you will:

  • Learn how to audit/map your curriculum delivery
  • Be able to structure your key learning and apply the key D&T principles to learning
  • Gain some practical examples of D&T units at KS3 and beyond
  • Get to see how other schools have successfully structured their KS3 curriculum
